Many more times than not users only change tension cords on the PAL thinking that is the only wear part. The most important aspect of the maintenance is actualy the inspection, cleaning, and lubrication of the PAL. By design the PAL system reqires very little maintenance parts, but because it is in constant motion, the primary mechanical components require regular cleaning and lubrication or you chance mechanical failure. Firmware back-ups are performed before and after each PM performed by LEAP Field Service Engineers (FSE). These can be used in the event of a failure and should be stored near the PAL. LEAP FSEs to keep a copy of these back-ups and they are stored at LEAP for future use.
